Raven Software, the developer behind Warzone 2.0, has shared patch notes for the game's first update. Notable changes include the removal of two pieces of equipment, the Counter UAV and Tactical Camera, from Buy Stations. Additionally, the damage bonus of armour-piercing ammunition against armoured enemies has been eliminated, and a more prominent notification will alert players when the Gulag's Jailer boss enters the area.
While this update addresses several issues, it primarily focuses on bug fixes that have emerged since the game's launch. Notable fixes include resolving a problem where parachute deployment caused players to crash, a mouse movement loss issue when interacting with containers, and a bug that allowed eliminated players to spectate the enemy team from beneath the map.
One particularly crucial fix prevents players from being instantly killed when they should have only been downed. Several other crash-related problems have been addressed, and a bug affecting proximity chat audio for some players has been resolved.
Despite facing some bugs since its launch, Warzone 2.0 has garnered significant popularity among fans. Activision Blizzard recently announced that over 25 million players joined Warzone 2.0 in its first five days.
NME awarded Warzone 2.0 a four-star rating in its review, describing it as a "promising new era" for the sequel while acknowledging its challenges and exciting gameplay.
In other news, popular streamer Dr Disrespect expressed his opinion that Warzone 2.0 "won't last very long" and noted a perceived lack of a skill gap in the game. These comments came after he was eliminated during a match.
